I cleaned and reorganized my office recently, and discovered several low carb cookbooks -- some of which I haven't even opened yet! It rekindled an old idea -- adding cookbook reviews to my blog! I narrowed it down to five, and would love your help selecting which one to review first. Below you'll find a strategy to try the next time a craving hits, two comfort food recipes for these lingering cold nights, and a review of Blaze Pizza's Keto crust, which I enjoyed this past week and never disappoints!

The next time you get a craving, don't tell yourself you can't have something. Instead, tell yourself you can have it later! Since "later" isn't a "no," it doesn't trigger the defiance that makes you want to do it anyway (I personally struggle with defiance eating). Instead, since you're giving yourself permission (just not right now), it reduces the intensity of the craving.
Research shows this technique makes you less likely to give in to a craving later. There is one caveat, however: don't give yourself a specific time frame. When you set a specific time, you're more likely to give into the craving by treating it as a reward (plus you're likely to obsess over it and watch the clock!) When you use "later" as a general term, you're more likely to forget about it and skip it altogether.
Garlic Parmesan Zoodles are great as a side dish, or enjoy as a meal by itself! The recipe uses just 4 ingredients -- zucchini noodles, butter, parmesan cheese and garlic -- and takes just 5 minutes to make (if using prepared zoodles). With 128 calories per serving and 5.5g of net carbs, these zoodles are a great way to get your veggies in!
This is an easy weeknight comfort food recipe! Bursting with the flavors of lasagna (with some French fried onions for crunch), this dish takes just 10 minutes to make. They are on the indulgent side with 576 calories per serving and 24g of net carbs, but are so filling and delicious!
